I've got two assignments for you today, class.
1. Create a research blog. This is as easy as it sounds (took me about two minutes to create this) - and then 'follow' my blog to keep up with assignments, etc. You're also encouraged to add your friends, but that's up to you.
2. Find an article online that argues a point. Paste it to a blog post (include the link to the page you found it) and then look at it critically. What it the thesis? How does the author try to persuade the reader? (do they give examples, statistics, lay out an emotional story, etc.) What do they do in the conclusion to tie it all together? Did it persuade you? Why or why not?
